  I stopped in to browse while doing laundry. There was a very sweet woman in the kids section cleaning. I asked her the price of children's books. She said 25 cents mostly. A few of the bigger ones or hard backs might be 50- $1. I chose a stack of thin paper scholastic paperback kids books. Thinking these were the quarter ones. They were in standard kids book shape, nothing nice just regular books. I also choose a bathing suit for one of my children but didn't know the price. When I went to check out I asked the price. The woman behind the counter said they are $1 a piece. So $2 for a bikini and another $1 for a lone top. I said OK I'll put it back it's more than I want to pay. My child want with me and I didn't want to gamble $3. The woman shamed me! She went on a rant about how expensive suits were and how if I shopped at Penney's if expect to pay $60 for the same suit. Well I'm not at Penney's. And I get to choose if $3 is what I want to pay. I didn't ask for a lower price. I calmly put it back. And made a joke about understanding how expensive they were but we are pinching pennies right now. She rung me up. It came to $10.50 and I was surprised because I thought they would be around $5. I said I was surprisinged and asked why it was so high. She said they were 50 each and that she actually have me a discount. Her voice was derisive. I stated that another person gave me a different price. She went on to rudely shame me more and act like she was doing me a huge favor by giving me the books at 25 a piece. It felt so terrible. I know I don't deserve this. No one does. She should not be working there.
